PRIVATIZATION ADMINISTRATION (An Office of the Prime Ministry) Vice Chairman/ Advisor to Chairman,
Responsible for privatization of Turk Telekom the highest value asset of the Turkish Republic planned to be privatized (total market value exceeding $ 12 billion). Activities included:
- Defining the strategy for a successful “strategic sale” followed with a public offering, establishing a solid regulatory environment to be attractive for the international investors; thus preparing the first telecommunications law since a century.
- Chairman of the Tender Committee ( a committee formed by the telecomm law, consisted of 5 independent members representing relevant government authorities ) activities involved close cooperation with the world financial institutions including Merrill Lynch acting as sales adviser.
- Chairman of the Value Assessment Committee for Turk Telekom and GSM Licenses to be delivered before the privatization; providing all business parameters and coordinating works with financial institutions such as Goldman Sachs Int.
- Counselor to Minister of Economy. (Mr. Işın Çelebi on telecommunications and energy business).
- Board Member of a Special Steel Manufacturing Company.
